Founded in 1881, the Nice Observatory is today one of the 4 geographical sites of the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur, a public research establishment in Earth and Universe sciences. Located on Mont-Gros, to the east of the city of Nice, the site combines an exceptional historical heritage with contemporary research infrastructures.Built by Charles Garnier, it houses the largest mobile dome in Europe, designed by Gustave Eiffel.
Newly opened, the interactive Universarium will take you from the Big Bang to the heart of the stars, test your knowledge of the solar system, and take you on an immersive journey through the universe.
To discover this exceptional site, visits are organized for the general public all year round, online registration required: www.oca.eu/visites.
